Over the Horizon was founded by Kelvin Beattie on 1 st of May 2005. Kelvin had just returned from a year long trip in Japan. While there, it was apparent many young Japanese people wanted to go to Australia but weren't sure of where to go or what to do when they got there. This made planning a trip very time consuming and created anxious feelings for potential visitors. It's especially daunting for those with little English communication skills.

Ryugaku and other travel companies in Japan can help plan holidays which are okay, but seem to lack personnel on the ground in Australia who can provide services to make a good experience, a fantastic one.

Hence Over the Horizon was formed. A company dedicated to replacing pre-travel fears instead with excitement and creating unforgettable travel experiences with on-going support for visitors.

Working alone, but also sometimes in conjunction with Japanese based agents, Over the Horizon understand different people want different types of experiences.
