Childcare

Assist childcare workers, look after children, prepare lunches and play games. Children are usually from 3 to 5 year olds. Sometimes they might be naughty but they are always cute!

Primary School Teachers Assistant

Assist primary school teachers with class teaching and activities. The students are learning Japanese so you have the opportunity to get really involved in the class. Counting, greetings and introductions are part of the curriculum for these young students. You may have the opportunity to introduce some of your own games, songs and activities! Of course, origami is always popular!

Social Welfare (aged care)
Have the opportunity to make difference to people who are aged and who sometimes have physical limitations or disabilities. This job will involve many duties from helping people with day to day activities and talking to the senior citizens. If your English isn't very good then please listen and show these delightful people a big smile! They really enjoy having someone who cares and will listen to their many stories.

Cafes and Restaurants
Wait tables, make coffees and drinks, prepare food, clean and wash up. This is a great opportunity to communicate and talk to customers and other staff. Intermediate English skills are required.

Office
Have the opportunity to experience office life abroad . Duties usually include data entry, filing and helping with marketing or promotion activities. Australian companies are usually very friendly and you will have the chance to make friends at your office and learn about Australian office culture.

Winery / Brewery
Experience life on a winery. Duties include making fences, preparing soil, weeding, fertilizing and picking grapes. Also have the opportunity to make your own beer! Learn about the wine process and how machines play such an important part on a winery today.

Farm

Learn about life on a farm! Milk cows, tend the chickens, herd the sheep and goats, assist with the horses and maintain the vegetables! With such a variety of jobs, you will probably learn a great deal! It can be hard work but very rewarding.

Paid Work

Many Over the Horizon clients also choose to do paid work. This option of course will depend on the level of your English and again a Working Holiday Visa is required. Paid work is a great way to sustain yourself whilst living abroad. Over the Horizon has established a vast network of employers and can assist you to find a job in a range of industries.
